A very hard place to leave

Pros: This is an amazing inn with a superb host, excellent facilities, incredible food (definitely book dinner here!). It is a very hard place to leave. Everything about this inn is great!

Cons: In the evening the smell from the neighbouring cow farms gets quite strong but they are a natural part of the stunning countryside of rolling green hills (and that’s what you’ve come for, right) so just close windows or go inside and you can get a break from it if it bothers you. It’s the same at any hotel in this region because you’re in cow country.

Lovely, little hotel on the edge of the mountains

Pros: Better than expected. Trails nearby. Easy parking. Room was very comfortable and updated. During the summer, it was nice to have a fan in the room. We had a great dinner on one night. The host and staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would gladly stay here again.

Highly recommend

Pros: Extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a great location in the peaceful countryside but with easy access to Appenzell and all of the nearby lifts. Breakfast is included, and a lovely restaurant offers delicious meals. Corinne was a fantastic host.

Ein Glückstreffer für den Jahreswechsel

Pros: Am Rand eines kleinen Dorfs in der Nähe von Appenzell, sehr ruhig und ein schöner Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen in der Region. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bedient. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, dass neben dem Silvestermenü auch noch à la carte möglich war, sei eigens hervorgehoben. Sehr empfehlenswert!
