Self Check-In Hotel David 22

Great location, good value for money and room for improvement

Pros: This was my second stay at the hotel. Once more I appreciated the central location, the good size room and the comfortable mattress.

Cons: This time the stay was quite good, but I am less enthusiastic than my previous review. 1) Check-in. We made a last minute reservation in the afternoon and we arrived to the hotel shortly before midnight. When entering the reservation number and the last name on the PC screen for self check-in for several times we got an error message. I was quite nervous as not sure at that time we could have asked for help at the hotel next door. Luckily after several tries the check-in procedure could be completed. 2) As the request for a kettle in the room was nit fulfilled - probably being a Sunday- there was no water in the carafes next to the the kettle in the common area in the hall. Same in the morning. As there is no access to a sink to get water, there should be more carafes available or they should be refilled on a regular base. 3) The sheet had a hole and this is a pity as it conveyed an image of neglect.

Pros: Lovely big clean room. Had everything we needed and extra toiletries and coffee etc in reception. Easy check in and staff in sister hotel across the road were really helpful

Pros: Room was excellent, great value and location. Will stay again.

Cons: The self checkin was a disaster and we had to call through to another location to support the checkin process.

Excellent stay

Pros: Excellent stay. Extremely comfortable room in a great location. Will certainly consider when having to be in St Gallen again.

Cons: No refrigerator available. Everything takes place through online procedures.

Nice for a basic stay.

Pros: Basic hotel near the train station. It was clean and rooms were spacious.

Cons: The entry/ lobby is not particularly charming.

Pros: Overall, everything is fine. But the registration process is a complete mess. We waited for elderly people to complete the registration for 30 minutes. Only then were we able to register.

Pros: The accommodation is clean and the environment is quiet, making us feel the comfortable season.

Pros: I wasn't sure what to expect from a self-check-in hotel, but David 22 was everything you want in a hotel at the cheaper price. You can store luggage before/after the stay at the hotel across the street. Plus the lobby has tea/coffee making facilities (free!) and a fridge so you can buy breakfast supplies from the supermarket. I also appreciated the sustainability features like crockery & cutlery being available, as well as the policy only to clean the room daily on request. (Extra towels or toilet paper can be collected oneself.) The room was clean, spacious, and quiet at night.

Cons: The WiFi only worked intermittently, mainly in the lobby. It would add to the sustainability features if there were recycling bins available for cans, glass, and plastic bottles. It seems a pity to have to throw them in the trash.

Pros: Easy check in process. Sizeable room. Great amenities in the public space.

Good Value for Money

Pros: - Location - Clean - Fridge - Cuttlery - Good value for money (for Switzerland standard) - Free mobility card (picked up in another hotel accross the street) - was possible for early check-in for 1 out of 3 rooms - Quiet area

Cons: - Pillow too thin - No sink in the pantry - No microwave - No toilet on the ground floor
