We had an awesome weekend at Frohe Aussicht and would return again. Thank you!

Pros: The location and the attention of the owners and staff. A family business where you can feel home.

Cons: The bathroom, the size and the location of the toilet respectively felt rather uncomfortable. Especially for bigger people it can be a challenge to move around in the tiny bathroom.

The food was excellent, not topical swiss. We could recommend this hotel.

Pros: we liked the position. Very close to the train station. The greenest portion of Appenzell.

Cons: We changed the room because we stayed one more night. They advised the room wad tiny but the didn’t tell it was not renovated

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful setting

Pros: Hotel Frohe Aussicht is located in the small village of Schwende near Appenzell. I was mainly looking for a place to stay for one night, and I chose this one because it was conveniently located and had its own parking space. So I wasn't expecting much, but it quickly became clear that Hotel Frohe Aussicht was an excellent choice. The room was basic, with a private balcony and bathroom. The hotel had an excellent restaurant. The staff were nice and professional. The views from the balcony were amazing. I could have spent more nights here. I definitely recommend it.

I highly recommend the Frohe Aussicht Hotel as the staff is very kind and friendly.

Pros: The alpine region and the hiking trails from Schwende to Seealpsee and Äscher.

Peaceful and good location for hiking around alpstein

Pros: Beautiful and convenient location for hiking in the alpstein area. Good fruit selection at breakfast!

Cons: Carpet flooring just never feels truly clean in my experience. Creaking floor and bathroom door- loud enough i worried it disturbed the other guests.
