Perfect stay

Pros: Very clean and comfortable rooms with Charme. Wonderfull Host and perfect breakfast.

A place full of character

Pros: We liked the well-equipped kitchens and the beautiful backyard. It has a nostalgic, old-school vibe. The breakfast was good, and it was nice to take the breakfast basket outside and enjoy it in the backyard.

Cons: The mattress could be more comfortable. The soundproofing wasn’t great, but that’s totally understandable for an old wooden house.

Pros: I really loved the atmosphere! You can feel that Donkey Villa is privately owned and lovingly cared for. Patricia and the staff are super friendly and take the time to explain everything when you arrive. There are different options (see website) for your stay – the main villa, tipi tents, yurts, and guest houses. I stayed in the villa, as I was traveling alone, and had a super cozy single room. The breakfast was simple but lovely, made with care and that special attention you only find in unique places. The location is also perfect for exploring the Appenzell region. I’ve already booked my next stay – I can definitely recommend it!

A clean, comfortable stay in Degersheim

Pros: Property is located in the village, walking distance to everywhere. We received a very warm welcome from Patricia. Garden has a lovely setup, with Teepee tents and a mongolian Yurt. There is nature all around. In the B&B, everything is immaculately clean. The breakfast was laid out for us the following morning, with delicious croissants and coffee. A very enjoyable overnight stay, we will definitely come back the next time we need to be in Degersheim.

Pros: Although I arrived a little late, the owner welcomed me with a very friendly face. The rooms were warm, clean and comfortable. She offered a nice and simple breakfast. Excellent service. If you are thinking of visiting nearby, I definitely recommend you to stop by.

Pros: Mona is an incredibly welcoming and helpful host. The location is perfect for hiking a part of national route 22; in our case from Herisau to Degersheim and a subsequent visit to the tree top path Neckertal. Room, kitchen, toilets and showers were simple, but pleasant and clean. Breakfast was just nice, and we also liked the garden with the possibility of having our own BBQ (even though we were too tired to use it). Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Ich bin voll und ganz auf meine Rechnung gekommen.

Pros: Die Gastgeberin war sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit, sie macht einen tollen Job. Sie hat sich mit mir sehr offen unterhalten und sich stark als Person eingebracht. Das Frühstück kommt sehr dekorativ daher in einem Korb.

Cons: Es war alles total in Ordnung. Meine 1. B & B- Erfahrung war äusserst positiv verlaufen.
