Superb village guesthouse, charming in every way

Pros: Beautiful comfortable and spacious room, furnished in traditional Appenzell style. Quiet location, nice view and extremely helpful and friendly host. Very good breakfast, with fresh home-made items on a buffet and eggs etc made to order.

Cons: Nothing really, everything was great. You need to be aware it's a 15 minute walk into the village for evening meals - or a drive. But it's a pleasant walk anyway.

Pros: hosts are extremly friendly and helpful. they are easy to communicate with and willing to help if u need for anything. Also room is very clean, beds are very comfy

Cons: nothing, if there is lift would be easier for ppl to carry luggage upstairs but that is only minor

Small and efficient hotel located in beautiful surroundings!!

Pros: A lovely little hotel with the individual character of a family-run operation! Very efficient and professional in the detail, with all modern facilities one expects from a top hotel, without any of the associated negatives! A fairly comprehensive breakfast where the owner took personal interest in your coffee, and brought fresh mint leaves from the garden to make your scrambled egg look prettier!! What more can you ask for?! The owner speaks very good English she had picked up while living in Oxford, and is extremely helpful and cooperative!! Recommend without any hesitation!!

Cons: The rooms could have had better sound proofing!!

Would recommend this guesthouse to any one considering a place to stay in or near Appenzell. Amazing experience.

Pros: Outstanding family run B&B that was charming, clean, and situated in the heart of the Appenzell region with access to unbelievable scenery and hiking. Wonderful hospitality from Abongile who provided all the local knowledge and recommendations. She went above and beyond to help us with a parking ticket as well. Amazing local organic breakfast was provided every morning, with the scrambled eggs in particular a highlight. WiFi was fast!
