Pleasant and convenient for me - I walked to visit my mother in Oberhelfenschwil

Pros: Fantastic position with a commanding view. Good to have a restaurant next door (NB: closed Wednesday and Thursday....but I gather arrangements can be made for residents). Very friendly owners. Good showers.

Cons: The partitions between the rooms have minimal sound insulation. My bed creaked a lot....disturbed my sleep.

Pros: What a place! We found Berghof almost by accident, needing a one night stay as we drove through Switzerland to Italy. And we feel very lucky to have done so. The setting is stunning, we loved the hills and views, even the thunderstorms! The accommodation is a hostel, with large sharing rooms including bunk beds and single beds. It's in a magnificent barn which we think could probably sleep about thirty on the two lower floors. We had it all to ourselves other than a few campervans. The facilities were immaculate, the bathrooms and showers especially impressive. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon and evening, eating and drinking. A great place to accidentally find yourself after a long day's driving. I could see this being a great place to stay with a large group, especially if you were hiking around the area; every hill and peak looks stunning!

Cons: Minor things, but there's no kettle or kitchen facilities other than the restaurant. Also, the single beds my wife and I slept on were incredibly squeaky. This wouldn't be such a problem, but when sharing a room it kept waking the kids up whenever one of us moved. So not a great night's sleep, which was a shame because everything else was very comfortable.

Cons: ich hab die nächte nicht schlafen können weil die nachbaren sehr laut waren & grundsätzlich alles in der unterkunft hörbar ist.

Pros: Das Zimmer war sehr schön neu renoviert. Die Hausherrin und der Hausherr waren sehr umsichtig, ein ganz grosses Lob auch an alle Angestellten, ein tolles Team. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig mit viel einheimischem Käse und allzeit reichlich Kaffeenachschub. Und dazu einen Einblick in heimische Traditionen. Sehr schöner Fleck in der schönen Schweiz. Vielen Dank.

Cons: Bitte Ausstattung der Unterkunft ( Fön, Handtücher, Wasserkocher,....) einpflegen.

Pros: Mir hat alles sehr gefallen! Das Mädchen, das mir das Zimmer gezeigt hat, hatte wunderschöne Augen – vielleicht habe ich noch lieber in sie geblickt als in die Sterne. Zwar waren auch die Sterne zu sehen, doch ihr Blick hat am schönsten gestrahlt.
